18th Castle Meeting 2024

New trends on Paleo-, Rock- and Environmental Magnetism

June 30th – July 6th 2024, Utrecht, The Netherlands

Fort Hoofddijk (1879 AD) houses Utrecht University’s paleomagnetic laboratory. It is in the middle of the Botanical Gardens on the main campus Utrecht Science Park at De Uithof, and is surrounded by its own moat.

The 18th Castle Meeting will be hosted by Paleomagnetic Laboratory ‘Fort Hoofddijk’ at Utrecht University. As with previous Castle Meetings, we plan an informal meeting with one oral session at a time and ample opportunities for open discussions and poster presentations. We foresee a spirit similar to that of earlier Castle Meetings, combining scientific excellence with a relaxed social and cultural program. We will also celebrate the career of Mark Dekkers.

The 18th Castle Meeting is preceded by a two-day workshop on Micromagnetic Imaging, including hands-on experience in the Quantum Diamond Microscope lab at Fort Hoofddijk. This workshop is open to PhD candidates and postdocs only, and availability is limited.
